REFERENCE

For reference i have saw a few designs that had catch my eye. These posters were so direct and vibrant.

            .

After choosing a few reference images, i compiled some other reference for my sketch elements on the recipe poster.

SKETCHES

Next, i move on to sketching my compositions and ideas on a notebook.

After, a long brain squeeze of a suitable composition for the elements and text for the recipe poster, i had sketched 4 ideas. Finally i choose to proceed with this idea.

PROGRESS

I started to create all the ingredients and elements one by one in Adobe Illustrator. This was fun to do when i could freestyle and and create the foods.

FIRST OUTCOME

After arranging and deciding which of the parts suits the most. i had decided to make the background dark moss green inspired by the ( spinach ) the other element is greyish blue. But.. i was not satisfied by the colour scheme on this poster.

FINAL OUTCOME

After experimenting a different colour choices and positions, i decided to make it more vibrant and clearer. I changed the colour of the fabric to red checkered design to match an Italian aesthetic since Pasta Grannie is an Italian. To make it more home made feel. I have added a cursive handwriting to make it look like it is written and here is the outcome!

FEEDBACK

  • Choose a clearer and direct sketch ideas.
  • add some pasta grannie or Italian elements to the visuals.
  • avoid placing text from the right.( it is hard for people to read )

REFLECTION

This project was fun! i was excited to create the elements of ingredients.
