Task 2/Key Artwork and Collateral
Task 2(A): Key Artwork
For our second task (part A), we are required to design a key artwork based on our name/nickname, which needs to have a minimum number of 4-5 letters.
Ideation
For ideation the key artwork is a wordmark/lettering that is used to identify someone or something; basically sort of like a logo or a watermark? I'm designing what would symbolises myself. We were suggested to create a design based on either who we are.I have decided to combine my own identity with what i love that is sound or rhythm of music.
After researching some songs that i like listening to and the different
unique sound waves. That would help me with creating my typeface or
wordmark.

Task 2(B): Collateral

following:
3 Collaterals:
Animation/GIF:
- Pick a colour palette for our key artwork
- Expand our key artwork
- Identify 3 collaterals
- Animate our key artwork (3 seconds max)
- Take a black and white self-portrait

FEEDBACK
Week 7
General Feedback: Include the animation in Instagram. Learn how to present yourself for self-portrait as a designer. Can make the timeline more interesting by zooming in one part of the collateral, but not revealing it all in once.
Specific Feedback: Complete the collateral and start with the animation, make sure the animation/GIF shows what you are trying to apply.
Week 6
General Feedback: Don't use gradient in the word mark. Do not just copy and paste our word mark into everything however we need to start with expanding our word mark and figure out the identity we're going for.
Specific Feedback: Expand the idea of design for the typeface, maybe using more elements to make it more interesting.
Week 5
Specific Feedback: reorganize the typeface to make it not too cluttered and more readable.
Week 4
General Feedback: Some of the words need additional adjustment. It's important to extract the detail of the original image.Use the original shape for the letter.
Specific Feedback: Make your key artwork more define and finalise your
chosen key artwork.
Week 3
General Feedback: The letterform has to represent the actual object you extracted from and ensure their characteristics are visible.
Specific Feedback: Refine more on my letterform to make it more readable.
Week 2
General Feedback: Use only one color and ensure elements aren’t too big or distractive that will disrupt the entire layout and message.
Specific Feedback: Follow accordingly to the system to get the correct layout.
Reflection
Experience:
From the other tasks that i have done so far, i think i kinda like this particular task.It was fun for me to design my own key artwork of my own and applying it to a product as a mockup as if it was my own branding products. The most difficult obstacle I faced for this task is coming up with expanding my designs to be more interesting, as i struggle to come up with ideas to break down the design. Overall i am happy with my final outcome and what i have learnt through the task.
Observation:
My observation during the task, I have noticed that i had trouble with animating the GIF. By continuous learning and practice will help me refine my skills and create compelling and effective designs in the future.
Findings:
By working on this task, i can apply my findings about typography and gain practical experience in creating visually appealing collateral materials.
