LECTURE

In Week 3, we started a new project, Digital Collage Design. This was our first online class :) We were introduced to Adobe Photoshop along with some tools we will be using such as the lasso tool, pen tool, magic wand, marquee selection tool, layers, etc.

Lasso Tool: Allows you to draw and pinpoint specific areas of a document. Pen Tool: Usually pictures with a background. It creates a path from scratch. Magic Wand: Usually pictures with no background.


TUTORIAL

Mr. Fauzi gave us a demonstration on how to use the main tools we will need for this project in Photoshop. He also showed us videos to introduce the project and help us gain a better understanding of what we will be doing.



COMPOSITION 1:



For this first composition idea I went for a simple try. There is not much detailed elements. I was exploring the composition of negative and positive space.


COMPOSITION 2:




For this composition I went for a minimal but surreal approach. I really like the outcome of the figure with a plant head as the eye-catching element in the collage.


COMPOSITION  3:



Lastly, for this composition was tough because I ran out of idea of placement. Finally I decided to do the same surreal approach and added a man coming out of an elevator from a vending machine.
